  • 3M debuts AI-powered tool at CES 2026 to enable faster experimentation and simulation using its materials.
  • Company to display advancements in consumer electronics, automotive, advanced manufacturing and data centers at booth #8505.
  • 3M executives to join panels on virtual materials in automotive and future manufacturing technologies.

3M Co. will present a range of technologies aimed at advancing consumer electronics, automotive, advanced manufacturing and data centers during the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas next year.

The company, traded on the New York Stock Exchange as MMM, plans to debut an artificial intelligence-powered tool designed to help customers experiment, simulate and develop products using 3M materials more efficiently. The tool combines AI with 3M's expertise in technology and manufacturing to address engineering challenges and produce more resilient products.

"3M is reigniting our innovation engine and focusing research and development on high-impact markets as we increase introduction of new products," said William Brown, 3M chairman and chief executive officer. "At CES, we'll highlight how 3M is merging the capabilities of AI with our deep technological and manufacturing expertise to further accelerate the innovation process."

The showcase, set for Jan. 7-10, 2026, at the Las Vegas Convention Center, will feature 3M's booth in the North Hall at #8505. Attendees can explore applications from batteries and display films to thermal management solutions that support global computing and connectivity needs.

Solutions by Industry

In consumer electronics, 3M materials enable devices that are more efficient to assemble, repair and recycle. These solutions protect against environmental factors such as dirt, dust, moisture, heat, electromagnetic interference and mechanical stress, allowing broader design flexibility.

For the automotive sector, 3M offers bonding materials and display technologies for head-up, driver and passenger interfaces, contributing to integrated vehicle interiors. Additional advancements include thermal management, lightweighting, battery and safety solutions to enhance vehicle efficiency and performance.

Advanced manufacturing applications from 3M include tools for monitoring material mixtures and custom adhesive extrusion to improve production efficiency. The company also provides personal protective equipment to enhance worker safety.

In data centers, 3M's cable preparation and performance monitoring reduce installation times and optimize energy pathways. Sensors offer real-time data on electrical grid performance, while high-speed copper and expanded beam optics support reliable data transfer for next-generation computing.

Panel Discussions

3M representatives will participate in two panels during the event.

On the Mobility Stage in the West Hall, a discussion titled "Accelerating Product Development with Virtual Materials and Simulation" will explore how virtual materials and testing shorten development cycles, expand design options and reduce risks in automotive innovation. The convergence of automotive, consumer electronics, software and manufacturing is reshaping collaboration and processes.

Panelists include Drita Roggenbuck, president of 3M's transportation and energy vertical; Geoffrey Bouquot, chief technology officer at Audi AG; and Judy Curran, senior chief technologist for automotive at Synopsys. The session is scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 7, from 1:30 to 2:00 p.m. PST.

In the North Hall, a panel hosted by the National Association of Manufacturers and the Manufacturing Leadership Council will address "Beyond AI: The Technologies Powering the Future of Manufacturing." Topics include how data, AI, Industry 4.0 and consumer demands are transforming production, innovation and supply chains.

Participants are Adam Cooper, principal at EY; Jeff Puma, content director at the National Association of Manufacturers; Jon Van Wyck, executive vice president and chief strategy officer at 3M; and Michelangelo Canzoneri, global head of group smart manufacturing at EMD Electronics. It is set for Jan. 7 from 2:45 to 3:15 p.m. PST in room N261 on Level 2.
